How do I install the software?

WorthIT Fixed Assets can be installed as a client/server setup or as a Single User setup.  All users will require File Create, Read, Write, and Delete access to the application directory and data directories.

 Please follow the instructions below:

 I. Single User Install

·         Insert the WorthIT Fixed Assets CD into your CD-ROM drive.  This should start the setup of the program. If the setup screen does not appear, please browse to the CD-ROM drive and run setup.exe.

·         A setup wizard will automatically appear and guide you through the installation of Single User Install. When prompted for a directory to install WorthIT to, please choose the correct directory. 

For a local installation, please choose a local drive.  (eg. C:\MRS Company Limited\WorthIT Fixed Asset for Windows 7)

II. Server Installation

 The server installation can be setup directly from the server or from a local machine with full access to the server.

 ·         Insert the WorthIT Fixed Assets CD into your CD-ROM drive.  This should start the setup of the program. If the setup screen does not appear, please browse to the CD-ROM drive and run setup.exe.              

·         A setup wizard will automatically appear and guide you through the installation of the server components. Select SERVER ONLY.

·          When prompted for a directory to install WorthIT to, please choose the directory. 

For a true server installation, please choose a mapped drive on the server. 

For a local server installation, please choose a local drive.  (e.g. C:\MRS Company Limited\WorthIT Fixed Asset for Windows 7) 

III. Client Installation

                The client installation can be installed on a machine that you have purchased licensed for. All users will require File Create, Read, Write, and Delete access to the application directory and data directories.

·         Insert the WorthIT Fixed Assets CD into your CD-ROM drive.  This should start the setup of the program. If the setup screen does not appear, please browse to the CD-ROM drive and run setup.exe.

·         A setup wizard will automatically appear and guide you through the installation of Client components. Please select CLIENT ONLY. 

·         When prompted for a directory to install WorthIT Client on the local machine.   

Choose the default path (C:\MRS Company Limited\WorthIT Fixed Asset for Windows 7) or browse to a folder on   the Local Machine.

·         When prompted for the installation folder the second time (The Windows^® Browse Dialog box will automatically open), please browse your Network and specify the folder where you have installed the server components. 

Licensing Files 

After installing WorthIT Fixed Assets, you will have to install the license keys.

·         Insert the WorthIT Fixed Assets CD into your CD-ROM drive.   Using Windows Explorer, browse to your CD-ROM drive and copy the files located in the License folder. 

 In the WorthIT Program (C:\MRS Company Limited\WorthIT Fixed Asset for Windows 7) where the server components have been installed, create a Data folder and paste all the licensing files you copied from the CD.  The licensing information does not have to be installed for each client installation; one installation on the server will suffice.

 ·         For a Single User License, please copy the files in the directory where you installed WorthIT.

(Note: If you run WorthIT Fixed Assets and/or any of the WorthIT application an “Application Key” message appears, you have either installed the license incorrectly or you executed a program you are not licensed for.  Please retry step III and check your invoice for the correct version of your program.)
