I keep seeing the message "WorthIT Fixed Assets has identified that it requires this asset book to be optimized to perform properly." What does this mean? The Optimize Asset Book function enables you to improve the performance of WorthIT Fixed Assets. Performing this function results in a faster database as it will remove all orphaned records and re-indexes all the database files. This message may appear after you have experienced a power failure or hardware problems. Also, if data you have entered is not being displayed, optimizing the asset book may display the data. If you have just set up your asset book and there are no assets present, you will see this message every time you open up your asset book until there is at least one asset record added to the asset book. In this case, you will not have to optimize your asset book. Even if you do not experience any of these problems, it is recommended that you perform this function regularly, contingent upon your activity level. During initial setup, it is recommended to optimize the asset book once for every four hours of data entry. Moving forward, it is recommended that the asset book be optimized once every month. To optimize your asset book:
The application optimizes the current asset book. A status bar displays the progress and disappears when optimization is complete. The more records you have the longer this process may take, so please be patient! Note: You need exclusive use of the asset book to perform an optimize. If this book is in use by someone else, you will receive an exclusive lock message. |
