I can't run depreciation for my first period. How can I fix this?

If the system is beeping at you when you try to perform a Depreciation Run for period one, you do not have the Period Tables set up for that new year. If you look at the bottom of the screen in the status bar, most likely you will see the message:

"Period not in period table. Use Periods button in Company Setup to add periods."

Please go to Lists>Company in the menu, click on your company and then click on the Period Button. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and most likely you will not see your new year setup. In order to run depreciation, the period table must be set up.

To generate a year automatically, type the year in the Fiscal Year field and click on Generate. This will setup your new year using month end dates. If you are setting up a 4-4-5 week schedule, then manually click on each individual record and edit the information.

Conversely, you can set up each period individually by clicking on the New button and filling out information such as Fiscal Year, Period, Period End date and Percentage.
