How do I backup my asset book?

Backing up the asset book compresses a copy of all the files contained in your asset book folder into one file having the extension WZP. When you backup the asset book, it will create a file using the date as the name. For instance, if a backup was created on the asset book on January 16, 2001, at 3:13 p.m. and 30 seconds, the backup would be called 20010116151330.WZP. (i.e. ccyymmddhhmmss.wzp) This is very convenient, as you will know exactly when the backup file was created.

There are two methods that can be used to backup your asset book.

Method 1: This is performed through the Fixed Assets program. Make sure you are in the asset book that you want to backup. Click on File>Backup. This automatically creates a backup folder within your asset book and it will also create the backup file.

Method 2: Instead of allowing the system to automatically create a backup folder for you, this creates your own folder anywhere you want. Go to the WorthIT folder in the Start Menu, and click on Backup & Restore shortcut. Select your user name and click on Backup. Select the asset book that you want to backup. Choose the folder in which you want to save the backup. The filename will automatically be generated. Click OK and the saving process should take place.
